INTEGRITY is the qualification of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness. Without this you cannot have the respect necessary for success.
In order to accomplish her goals, the student must first have faith in her abilities to do it right and not search for shortcuts. To be able to claim success through dedication to principles is honorable. Music teaches that there is no "back door" to success. When a student practices, there are no shortcuts to improvement. Mom and dad cannot practice for the student, nor can the student "Google" her practicing commitments. The dedication necessary to move toward a goal comes with hard work which develops a strong moral character.
